Thai Festival

Bun Bang Fai, also known as the Rocket Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated in the northeastern region of Thailand, especially in Isan culture, as well as in Laos. The festival is usually held before the start of the rice planting season, around May or June.
The main purpose of Bun Bang Fai is to ask for rain from the sky gods to ensure a successful harvest. Villagers create large handmade rockets from bamboo and gunpowder, then launch them high into the sky during colorful celebrations and competitions.
The festival is not only about rockets but also includes parades, traditional music, dancing, cultural performances, and community gatherings. People wear bright costumes and celebrate together with joy and excitement.
Bun Bang Fai reflects the strong connection between local traditions, agriculture, and spiritual beliefs. It is considered one of the most unique and lively cultural festivals in Thailand.
